Vista Caribe

Your Adventure Awaits!

Guanaja was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1502. Just like Christopher, the amazing reefs and islands around Guanaja awaits your discovery and chronicles. You may choose to concentrate exclusively on diving, beach relaxation, fishing or bird watching. Or, you may choose to sample many of the fabulous opportunities available to you. Your guide will facilitate your preferences each day at Vista Caribe.

Diving/Snorkeling

Guanaja is one of the best kept secrets in the Caribbean and its diving and snorkeling is nothing less than world class. The reefs are vibrant, and the visibility seems virtually unlimited.
Regardless of your experience, a snorkeling and diving site can be customized to your comfort level. For the experienced divers, wrecks, ledges and black rock volcanic formations are at your doorstep. If you are new to diving, complete your primary PADI basic curriculum at home and complete your checkout dive during your stay at Vista Caribe. Your guide, Derick Kelly, is a PADI certified Master Diver and can sign off on your final check out dive.
Tanks are available for rent locally as well as other gear as needed.

Fishing

The Bay Islands of Honduras are known as a prime destination across the globe for Bonefish and Permit. The adjacent picture is former US President Jimmy Carter being coached in his bonefishing skills during his visit to Guanaja. If that is your desire, we can assist in hiring a professional bonefish guide. If you are more interested in catching fresh Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo, Tuna or Mahi-Mahi for dinner, your guide for the week can assist you in that endeavor as well. Fishing equipment is also available locally if you desire.

Eco-Tourism

The flora and fauna on the island have as much to offer as the rich Caribbean waters surrounding Guanaja.
You may decide to hike up the mountain for the fabulous view. You will be rewarded by the number of green parrots that nest in the hills. Bird watching is hugely popular in Central America and Guanaja has several species unique to the Bay Islands. We have some local experts that can be arranged as a guide if you desire.
Perhaps you would like to take a hike to one of the several waterfalls on the island. Your guide Derick, aka Mr. Guanaja, can lead the way.
Guided kayak adventures are available as well for an additional cost.
